Where do you draw the line?
Upon completing the poster I initially realised how much time I had spent doodling, and not extracting anything worth working on, though my drawing has improved immensely I needed to give myself a kick in the right direction.
As the poster was coming together, and I was happy with the overall aspects of the information that was going in, it helped me realise that whilst the topic I was happy with the aspect of it needed to be amended slightly. After many discussions in my head regarding a short snappy title, I sat there thinking where do I draw the line on this topic, and that was it, title found! Not only for the poster, but for the book concept also, which at this point will be a PDF/printed book.
Benefits of this is that it won't have to go through publishing, it can be made more accessible to those with an internet connection.
The aim of the study is to create a 'How to draw' book, containing strong female Playable Characters (PCs) and Non-Player Characters (NPC's). With various difficulty levels and challenges to enable the user to push their own boundaries in designing. Containing underlying research into what makes a character over-sexualised.
By the end the conclusion determined that whilst the focus on sexualisation in the gaming industry is a very highly discussed topic among gamers, educators and such, I have to ensure the wording in the project (PDF/Book) will read OK, as not to emphasise the bias in certain characters and the effects this has on players, but rather to focus on the positive aspects of strong female characters.
