Alright, so after the initial research of books, video tutorials, PDF's, etc; all of which were a help and a hindrance.
I was feeling 100% of what I was going to be putting together, I began drawing the initial characters, all be-it getting carried away into having the character look perfect. This didn't have to be the case however as in most tutorials there were numerous rough sketches, not all perfect and tidy.

| PageTemplate created in Photoshop |
After completing an initial page template in photoshop and organising the layers into groups, I was feeling confident that this would be a good layout.
This may change as the drawings continue and the pages come together. I will be flipping the pages and building up a contents page to go with it.
After playing with various fonts, I decided to go with Lucida Handwriting for now, though I am not sure this is the best option at the minute.
I've gone for the standard art book size of 14" x 11.75" this was influenced by research into what the standard size is for this type of book. Though there was an influx of information regarding printing, colour, etc.Though this is not one of my concerns at the minute.
When reading through these books I noticed some offered challenges to keep the user interested, especially if their level is above average, and putting handy tips was evident throughout all that I looked at. So I decided to include these at the bottom as an added extra.
After completing this I decided to get a mock up done of the front cover, though it needs a serious amout of work, this is what has been thrown together. Am going for the one on the left at the minute, though this could be perhaps as the images are not perfected and the colour scheme has not even been considered.
