2 Weeks of drawing.

It's been a long two weeks with Flu and such, however I was given a kick up the rear end as Masters had got slightly sidetracked by life.

So I sat with my tablet each night and decided it was time to get cracking.
Another random figure pose, initially wanting to attempt a female samurai. Perhaps something to go back to as began looking more robots, I got sidetracked with the arm.

Argh. It's harder than it looks to avoid the stereo typical female body within Dota.

Lacking inspiration already.
The characters on Dota are quite broad in the sense there are ninjas, animals, demons, robots, etc.
I was trying to determine which one I could focus on, so I started looking back through at robots, armor and all the images I had saved on Pinterest for any glimmer of hope. I then sat on Dota 2 looking at all the female heroes.

Strong female characters I said to myself. I looked at the Dota 2 female characters in particular and wanted to focus on integrating a new character to it.

I drew some Dota 2 characters as a guideline and to initially get me started. From there I was able to judge the size/proportion of the female character, not that it would matter as you could rescale but it was to give an indication in relation to the males.

I began with a vampire feature... fangs. Yes Halloween is just around the corner. as I began this I got distracted by a movie on the TV and then had a flashback to a Chinese movie called Mr. Vampire. where the Chinese vampires would hop with their arms extended like zombies. Yet that would be a good twist to the character above, changing it completely. It is need of something as its just too girly for my liking, and would more than likely pass as a support character.

I used some of the poses I posted on a previous blog and added the pose above to the collection, this won't be the final pose of choice, although it gave me an idea immediately for adding a tail. I began looking at animals online and decided a fox/wolf would be the best fit.
Today I mainly focused on the fox and pulled out some key details. Aside from the fur, to me the tail and ears are a good focal point for a character, so today I sketched a few of these details and chose two that I was happy with.

Above: Flix! Until a better name comes to mind. I was originally going to give her a gun as this is something missing from Dota but it may look out of place. I also thought a Cat O' Nine Tails would be an ideal weapon but further research into this would be required.

Below is a quick sketch of a Cat O' nine tails weapon, which will need to contain more detail. Will do a quick sketch of a gun tomorrow.
